BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Newton is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funded Clinician Scientist. She leads the imprint research program and has developed national partnerships to draw attention to existing gaps in pediatric mental health research and patient care in Canada. Dr. Newton completed her BScN (Nursing) from McMaster University (1999), her PhD (Clinical Health Sciences) with advanced clinical training in psychiatry with the Clinical Behavioural Sciences Program (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences) from McMaster University (2004), and her post-doctoral training (Knowledge Translation) from the University of Alberta (2007).
