Dr. Constantin is a pediatric hospitalist and clinician-scientist in pediatric sleep medicine and Co-Director of the Pediatric Sleep Laboratory at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH). She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at McGill University. Evelyn graduated from McGill Medical School in 2000 and then completed her pediatrics residency at both the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (University of Ottawa) and at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (McGill). She completed an Academic Pediatrics Fellowship and was awarded a fellowship research grant by the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec and the MCH Research Institute to complete her Clinical and Research Fellowship in Pediatric Sleep Medicine. She also obtained her Master of Science in Epidemiology at McGill University. Evelyn was recruited to the Montreal Children’s Hospital in 2006 where she is an attending pediatrician on the inpatient wards, a pediatric sleep specialist and Co-Director of the Sleep Laboratory. As a clinician-scientist, Evelyn’s research focus has been primarily on sleep disorders in children. She is the recipient of an Investigator award (2008 to present) from the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec (FRSQ Chercheur Boursier Clinicien award) and has been awarded operating grants as a Principal Investigator from the MCH Research Institute, the FRSQ, and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the latter for a multicentre Canadian study. She is involved with several interuniversity and national research collaborations, working with researchers in several domains and disciplines, including pediatrics, family medicine, sleep medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology and occupational therapy. She also supervises several research trainees from various disciplines. She is the Director of the Pediatric Sleep Research Laboratory at the Centre for Innovative Medicine at the McGill University Health Centre. Evelyn has been involved with the CCHCSP for many years – she received an RRSP award during her fellowship training and then was McGill Centre Leader from 2008-2011; she is currently involved at the national level as Curriculum Director. Evelyn is also active in educational programs at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and at McGill University, including her role as the Course Director of PHRESCA (Pediatric Health Research Epidemiology Statistics Curricula), and previously as Director of Research Education for Advanced Pediatric Trainees at McGill University. She has been recently named to the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence, awarded from the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. As of February 2016, she holds the position of Assistant Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education at McGill University.
