BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Kristy Wittmeier is a pediatric physiotherapist at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba and Physiotherapy Innovations and Best Practice Coordinator with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. She is a researcher in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Manitoba and with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Kristy has a Master’s degree in Medical Rehabilitation and a PhD in Physiology, both with a focus on physical activity and health. Her current research merges the areas of pediatrics, rehabilitation and knowledge translation, with particular interests in patient engagement and system access. She collaborates nationally as part of the CIHR funded CHILD-BRIGHT network. Clinically, Kristy works closely with multidisciplinary teams in the areas of cystic fibrosis and chronic pain. The CCHCSP been a part of Kristy’s research education and career for over a decade. As the Manitoba CCHCSP Centre Leader she is excited to share the opportunities available through CCHCSP with an ever-expanding pool of new and emerging clinician scientists.
