BIOGRAPHY

Theo Moraes is a Paediatric Respirologist who recently completed CCHCSP funded postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Dr. Tania Watts at the University of Toronto. Theo completed his MD in Toronto before his Paediatric residency in Kingston and Paediatric Respirology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He then earned his PhD in the laboratory of Dr. Gregory Downey studying proteinases and innate pulmonary immune function in acute lung injury. In Dr. Watts' lab he examined CD8 T cell costimulation and the development of specific long term memory T cells to influenza virus. Theo's research interest is broadly focused on lung inflammation and viruses. He recently was recruited to the Hospital for Sick Children with a Clinician Scientist Track appointment. His current research focus is on Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection
