Biography

Jessica Omand is a registered dietitian and PhD candidate in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto. Following her clinical training at St. Michael’s hospital Jessica completed her MSc in 2013 with the support of a CIHR award for Nutrition and Dietetic Research. Jessica is currently in the last year of her PhD and is getting support from a CIHR doctoral award through St. Michael’s Hospital and a Clinician Scientist Training Program award through the Hospital for Sick Children. Jessica led the inaugural linkage of the TARGet Kids! database, the largest primary care practice based research network for children, with health administrative data at ICES. She is working on a number of projects using this linked dataset with her research focus being vitamin D and health service utilization for respiratory issues in young children.
