Biography

Kate is a PhD student in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto. She completed undergraduate degrees in English and chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia and received her medical degree from Harvard. Following a general pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, she completed a fellowship in pediatric palliative care at Children’s Hospital Boston. She is currently an academic general pediatrics fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children, working clinically with the pediatric palliative care team. Kate’s research interest is in supporting family decision-making for children with life-limiting illnesses. For her PhD thesis, she is studying patient-centered outcomes for children with severe neurologic impairment under the supervision of Dr. Astrid Guttmann.
