Biography

Krista Keilty is a Nurse Practitioner located in the Centre for Innovation & Excellence in Child and Family-Centred Care and Project Investigator through the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children. Krista’s clinical practice has informed her research interest in the experience of family caregivers of children with acute and chronic illness. Krista is currently enrolled in the PhD program at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. Her doctoral dissertation, will examine sleep disturbance in family caregivers of children with medical complexity. This prospective matched-cohort investigation is expected to be of interest to child health clinicians, researchers and policy makers. Krista currently holds the Doctoral Fellowship for the Care of Children from the University of Toronto; the Alma Rae Fellows Scholarship Award from the Hospital for Sick Children, the Senator Norman Paterson Scholarship from the Canadian Nurses Foundation; along with doctoral fellowships and operational grants for her PhD study from both the Canadian and Ontario Lung Associations.
