Biography

Mandy Archibald is a pediatric registered nurse at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, an artist, and a PhD student in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Ms. Archibald is co-supervised by Drs. Shannon Scott (Faculty of Nursing) and Lisa Hartling (Department of Pediatrics). Ms. Archibald is interested in exploring how unique methods, such as art and storytelling, can be used to promote the use of best evidence in health care settings and is passionate about expanding the clinician scientist role within the nursing profession. For her dissertation research she is working with families of children with asthma to develop an arts based knowledge translation educational product to address parental information needs related to pediatric asthma management.
